| Selective Coloring #1 |
|
Note: I used Adobe Photoshop CS2 for this tutorial, it may not be transferable to another program. Go from this to this ![]() 1. First off, sharpen your image. Duplicate the base and drag to the top. Set this layer to multiply if the image is light, and screen if the image is dark. Adjust the opacity as desired. I set mine to Screen 33%. 2. Duplicate the base layer again, bringing it to the top again. Set this layer to soft light, adjust the opacity as desired. I set mine to 52%. 3. Choose Layer >> New Adjustment Layer >> Selective Color 4. Set the following numbers in each channel. Reds: Cyan -100 Magenta 0 Yellow +59 Black 0 Yellows: Cyan -100 Magenta 0 Yellow -43 Black 0 Neutrals: Cyan +28 Magenta -15 Yellow -23 Black 0 Choose 'OK'. 5. You will now see the results of the coloring. Different images vary the results. I like mine more vibrant, so I duplicated the selective color layer. 6. Merge all layers together by choosing Layers > Merge > Merge Visible. Remember: Try not to follow this tutorial exactly. This will always turn out differently with other images, so you may need to adjust some settings to get the way YOU like it. This is just a guideline, and what I liked for my image. © 7seas-designs.org |
